Entryway Table: The First Impression

The first thing that actually gives a guest or a person coming to your house that welcome feeling is your entryway.  Most of the time, people fail to decorate and accessorize it, thinking that it’s not an important part of the house.  Not only does a wonderfully designed entryway give welcome to your guests, it’s also a great place to actually rest the burdens of your day before you enter to the main house. 

In decorating an entryway, you should take note of the functionality and ease that the accessories you put in there will provide.  A major piece that your home’s entryway should have is the entryway table.  This takes the place of a bench if you don’t want to have one in your entryway.  It has a surface with enough space for you to place important items you don’t want to forget when you’re going out, and it’s also a place to leave the things you don’t need at home but need outside like umbrellas, gloves, hats, scarves, your purse, bag, or keys. 

You can go for an entryway table that comes with a number of drawers and shelves to keep your bric-a-brac and things away from sight and keep the welcoming part of your house clutter-free.  It’s also a place where you can put added décor like a lamp or a vase of colorful flowers.  Regardless of the size of your entryway, a table is always a good addition.  The table, if it comes in a good sturdy design, will add a bit of presence to the room itself.  There are round tables and small rectangular tables that you could work with to accent and increase the functionality of your entryway. 

A small entryway table that can be put against the wall is a great choice for a small entryway. Some only have fantastically designed legs for extra style in that small room and others have drawers that can cover the whole face of the table. The drawers it can have may be of various sizes, so you can fit anything from small keys to bulky bags and briefcases. You can keep the things you need for coming in and out of the house in the entryway and a table is just the thing for storing them. The entryway table allows you to put mail, dog leashes, shoes, and many other things away.

The entryway table comes in many designs and shapes.  There are large ones that can be used in the middle of your entryway or foyer.  There are small ones that can fit in the corner or the sides of the entryway.  It can be a simple table or a fully designed one, and the various finishes that can be put on the table are numerous, too.  There are tables with curvy legs as well as tables with ornately designed drawer trimmings. 

You can accent the table further with added lighting or even place a mirror behind the table. If you lay a rug in front of your table, you can make your personality shine through, too.
